York Day Nursery to Open Second Location at York County School of Technology

York, PA - August 12, 2021 – York Day Nursery, York County’s leading nonprofit early childhood education center, is proud to announce the opening of a second location coming Fall 2021, located on the campus of the York County School of Technology.

“We’re grateful for the opportunity to open a second York Day Nursery center and bring high-quality early childhood education to more children throughout York County,” said Brian Grimm, President, and CEO of York Day Nursery. “The early childhood education we provide is setting our kids on a path toward a brighter future, including the over 70% of our students living in low-income households. Our new center will nearly double the number of young children we’re able to care for and educate.”

The new location will serve children from ages six weeks to three years and comes at a time when York residents are struggling to find quality child care resources in the community after the closure of many child care centers during the pandemic.

“High-quality child care is essential for our community to thrive,” said Grimm. “Our second York Day Nursery center will care not only for the children we teach but also for the working families who need our support.”

With the opening of the new center, students enrolled in the York County School of Technology early childhood education program will gain greater access to workforce development opportunities through co-ops at the new York Day Nursery location.

“York Tech is excited for the opportunities our early childhood education students will gain by working with the York Day Nursery early learning center here at the school,” said Dr. David Thomas, Administrative Director for the York County School of Technology. “This partnership will give students real-world experience as they prepare to enter into the workforce. As a technical education school, we strive to prepare our students for both the career field and higher education. What better way to do so than with hands-on experience with a top-notch and respected early learning center.”

The addition of a second York Day Nursery center is possible due to the generous support of loyal donors and advocates for early learning.

“As we continue our fundraising efforts, I’m thankful for the donors who have helped us move toward our fundraising goal to make opening a second York Day Nursery center a reality,” continued Grimm. “Each of our supporters is making a direct impact on the lives of the many children and working families who need our support.”

Families interested in enrolling their child in York Day Nursery’s early childhood education programs this fall can call 717.854.1300.

York Day Nursery is currently hiring teachers to support both of its childcare center locations. Interested applicants can go to our Employment Page and apply online.
